    • Age >50 years
    • Tobacco smoker

    History

    • Unstable thyroid function
    • Diabetes mellitus
    • Radioiodine in the past 6 months
    • Progressive symptoms and/or signs of TED
    • Orbital aching
    • Diplopia

    Examination

    • Marked soft tissue inflammatory features
    • Lagophthalmos
    • Impaired ocular motility, particularly elevation
